If you’re a huge fan of Cinderella, and your “Prince Charming” is willing to play along with your fantasy – there are a lot of great options out there for fairy tale theme weddings – from the elegant royal event to the over-the-top fairy tale extravaganza!

Last week we featured the extreme end of ‘happily ever after’ in our post “Extremely Happily Ever After: Fairy Tale Weddings Part 1″.

This week we will take a look at the subtler side of all things Cinderella.

Royal Favors

Card Boxes

Since my last post I have discovered an online store dedicated to making ?your wedding fairytale dreams come true: it’s called weddingfairytaledreams.com (surprise surprise). ?They specialize in fairy tale theme cake toppers and unity candles, but they also sell unique card boxes that every princess bride should own! Guests can deposit their wedding cards here. Traditionally, guests might bring monetary gifts to the wedding reception. Today, many guests who would otherwise buy a gift from your registry choose to buy a gift card instead. Also, some guests bring a card with well wishes to the event and then deliver their gift later (perhaps the gift is large or they haven’t purchased it yet; etiquette allows one year of shopping from the wedding date).

Another option is to pick an engagement ring or wedding ring that just looks like it’s a royal family heirloom, like this 14K princess ring with matching band.

In a Place Not So Far, Far Away

If you want the princess experience without the price – you can still get married in a castle. A castle in Canada, that is! Castle Moffett on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia offers a 3 Night Castle Elopement Wedding for as low as $2000 (Canadian dollars) for the both of you. Just some examples of what you might experience: a canopied king sized bed, lake views, fireplace, meals, small wedding cake, flowers, a 30 minute photo session, the ceremony (includes the official), and a sailboat cruise on a 67 foot schooner.

Take a Royal Tour

One option might be to tour the great castles of the world on your honeymoon. Don’t want to travel on a bus with a bunch of seniors? (Just think of the fun you honeymooners could have freaking them out!). Instead, use a site like everytrail.com to plan out a tour for two – you can rent bicycles, stay in local inns, enjoy the countryside (and the privacy), and plan your route past a few castles on the way. Everytrail.com has a castle tour around Blois, France route that goes past two castles and covers approximately 20 miles.
